Martin Luther King said he had a dream
At the March on Washington, in front of a quarter of a million people at the Lincoln Memorial, King put his prepared text aside partway through and improvised the section everyone now knows by heart. It was broadcast live and it changed the argument.
He was thirty-four. He was shot dead less than five years later.
