Bangkok residents were greeted by a thunderstorm this morning, with lightning and rumbles rolling across the Thai capital as many were starting their day.

The storm arrived at around half past one in the afternoon local time, bringing the dramatic skies and crackling electricity that mark Thailand's monsoon season.
